During this week’s Rotary Club luncheon at Capt Dave’s Dockside Restaurant in Murrells Inlet I was happy to present my old roommate and owner of Sweet Tea Fishing Charters Mr. Fred Rourk to the group.

Mr. Rourk was there to speak to us in regard to our upcoming fishing tournament. This year we have decided to take our annual Flounder tournament to the next level. We’ll be introducing a King Mackerel Inshore tournament that will run simultaneously with the Flounder Tournament. Fred was a member of a fishing team that fished the SKA King Mackerel Tournament Schedule for several years. Throughout the different tournaments he said two things were always important to a successful tournament, the T-Shirt and the festivities that went on during the evenings. Make it fun was the number one thing he keep telling the group; make it something they’ll remember. One thing about Murrells Inlet Rotary Club Members we know how to have fun.

Now that we have secured a title sponsor who shares the same view Mr. Rourk was promoting and we Rotarian’s appreciate, “have fun”. This year we are proud to announce the title sponsor will be Tiki Seven Bacardi Rum. Together we have some great ideas for the Marsh Walk in Murrells Inlet, a Pub Crawl, Seven Card Poker Crawl, a Wooden Fish drop, Casting for dollars and many other fun activities.
